If there is one thing to do in Buenos Aires… THIS IS IT!

We absolutely LOVED cooking with Teresita! At first I thought it was a little expensive but after our experience I would have paid three times that! The atmosphere was tranquil, intimate and full of joy and laughter. We had an amazing group with us and we all had a great time looking in the markets and tasting her wonderful cooking with the even better wine pairings! Overall this was one my highlights of my South American experience!

Superb getaway for foodies

Teresitas cooking classes are good value & nice way to spend a day in green & quiet surroundings of central Buenos Aires. Teresita is nice, fluent in english and atmospehere in general is cosy. not to mention her beautiful garden & extraordinary home. And we shouldn’t forget great parilla man Jorge handling BBQ and grilling all those tasty bites of meat til perfection.

Great way to learn about the food and wine of Argentina

A fabulous introduction to the area. When we arrived we set off for a local farmer’s market. We did not find farmer’s markets in Buenos Aires so it was great to visit this one that sold fish, meat, fruit and vegetables. Teresita was able to tell us about all of the local meat, fish and produce.

Get out of the city a little!

Teresita and her husband Raul, retired professionals, run a B&B in Adrogue, but the main attraction is the tour of the markets and shops with Teresita, then cooking empanadas, followed by a fine 5 course meal of real Argentinian home cooking.  We had escabeche, empanadas (we made em!), a rustic bean stew, stuffed veal cutlets, and a wild dessert of soft cheese topped with candied cayote, and plenty of wine with discussion of the wine areas and wineries. Getting there is actually pretty easy. Mini bus from BA to Androgue followed by a 5 block walk. Took us a little less than an hour each way. These folks are the real deal! So friendly and open. I liked the opportunity to see how the real folks live, work, eat drink. Highly recommended!

Always amazing!

I was in Adrogué, Argentina last week and took my 6th cooking class with Teresita and another group of people who were visiting from Australia. These cooking classes just keep getting better all the time. Teresita and her husband welcome you into their home where the cooking classes take place in their spacious country kitchen.You can take a class with your own group – or family – or you may be added to another small group of people who are there for the day. Teresita will teach you the basics of making Argentine empanadas, which wines to combine with the empanadas, and she’ll also answer any questions you may have about other aspects of Argentine cuisine and customs.
